Connemara Granite
A large area of what appeared to be pinnacle or bed rock was drilled. The rock was very steeply sloped and irregular so it was hard to be extremely accurate on measurements, but the holes (varying from 1.8m to 3m) are easily measured.

The rock was drilled with 45cm (18in) between holes. Thirty-nine (39) 5kg bags (195kg) of Dexpan was used to fill 56 lineal metres of hole. One track-mounted drill w/ operator worked 7 hrs. and 6 men worked approximately 2.5 hrs. to perform the necessary operations. An air compressor was also used to clean rock surface and holes before filling.

Trenching
A second type of very applicable use for Dexpan is in trenching. This is where you have to cut out a section from rock to put pipes down.
Dexpan is ideal for use next to sensitive structures such as this. A trench had to be dug 50cm deep from granite bedrock to accommodate a pipe being put down. By drilling at an angle into the area to be removed, the granite was "lifted" and broken and the correct width and depth trench was very quickly dug.
